Ok, I have been spending some time working on my car. New bumper and fender. New seats. Now, I wanna get back to work on the engine. I've got the exhaust (cat back) and intake taken care of, and I'm looking for some pretty headers. After the Exhaust... What next? Any Project ideas?

Unless you are Harvey J, you are wasting your time playing with an NT.
Don't bother trying to make your NT faster. you'll just end up spending a shit load of money and be in civic range. Make your car look pretty, sell it to some stupid kid, then go out and buy yourself a nice awd.

No wonder I couldn't think of anything else to do to this thing.. There's nothing to do. The only thing that turned me off to turbos in the first place was insurance, and probs other people said they had with turbo cars... Ponder me this. What would it take to get this thing to be turbo? (so I can still tell the insurance company it's non-turbo) Drop a new engine in? Or can I work with the existing engine without reliability issues?

There is really only one good way to make yours a turbo.
Sell it and get a turbo DSM.

If you really want to make your Neon motor a turbo Hahn (http://www.hahnracecraft.com/auto/eclipse/eclipse.htm) has some options but you would be better off selling and getting a turbo.

Probably because if you would have flipped the Spyder, it's 99.9% guaranteed everyone riding in it would have died.

Ahh hell. I think I'll leave it NT for now and make it look fast. I'm still gonna finish up the exhaust, and then work some more on the body/interior/sound. Maybe one day I'll sell it, but right now... it's just not in the cards.
They made NT's so people could have show/stereo cars. That's really all you can do with them, and not really worth doing if you ask me (I had one).

Then I guess you would rather not have a fast car. My point was owning a turbo car is a wallet draining experience. You have to pay for power. I spend 150 every 6 DAYS lol.

I dunno my 90 has been exceptionally reliable. Ive put over 10k miles on it ina little over a year, and other than the trip to Ohio and a broken axle at GLD, it has never left me stranded. I have about $3500 TOTAL into the car including the 20G, full fuel system, FMIC, injectors, GReddy guages, etc.
DSMs dont have to be expensive.

Yeah it would be nice to have a fast car that looks nice. I only have one option right now though. It ain't fast. I hadn't planned on doin' any street racing on hwy in the near future in any case. so fast yeah would be nice, but not necessairy. Please I'm not gonna come crying to anyone about getting stomped by any car. I knew what I was getting when I got my talon, I knew if I wanted something that would dust a v8 it would cost. I'm fine with what I got, I was just looking to see if there was anythign to do to it after I got her breathing good. Smart a55 comments should have been expected, but were not in any way constructive.

Hmmm never did put Nitrous on it. It would have been fun though! Taking the converter helped out a lot. Plus I got 8whp gain when I removed the air intake hose from the airbox down at AMS ;)

Yeah the intake has already been taken care of. I can't decide if I want a silencer or a high-flow cat though. Nitrous?! Only if I wanna blow up my engine. Combustion good, detonation bad.

My car was mostly parts from several other peoples' cars. I didn't buy very many parts new. The radiator, gauges, and brake lines were about it. :D

with just the intake and the exhaust modded I'd blow the engine. I would need to do some actual work on the engine to load my ride with nos. That, like the turbo is too expensive a project for me at this point in time.

A buddy of mine has been trying to get rid of his set up fer a few weeks now, but I figured Id need a rebuild before getting it set up. Like how low, a 50 shot...a hundred?

35-75 roughly. Its all in how you toon it.
You can blow it up easy with a 35 shot, and I am sure some people run a 100 shot with no problems at all.

See I got stock engine, wif 134k on it and am trying to decide if I should hold off till it gets rebuilt or whatever. I'll figure it out . Thanks guys. ( btw...can we lay off the F&F shit...we might accidentally attract people w/ JETTAs or HONDUHs. and what'll be the point of that?) :-?

You can basically put a 50 shot on anything (not small engines like lawnmowers, mini-bikes, Geo Metros)

I did a 50 shot on my lawnmower in high school.
Also switched around the pulleys, put the big pulley from the gear selector on the crank shaft, and put the small one from the crank on the gear selector, So 1st gear, was like the original 5th gear, and 5th gear with the 50shot, well, that would do wheel stands.
I removed the blade deck and it would do wheel stands on the brackets in the rear where the mulch bag would go. i got pulled over on the sidewalk in elkhorn doin 20mph in 3rd gear.

My engine has 131k on it, the previous owner (although a mechanic) did not treat it well. THat's why I'm doing all this work to it. And, yes, with the current state of the engine being not the best (but fixable) would not be able to stand a nitrous system (See fuckers I didn't say nos(r))

my old neighbor worked for the county dept. doing maint on all the county vehicles and plow trucks etc. He has a big shop and did the work on it, when we were both bored. I gave it to him a while ago when I blew the motor up..
