    Default Volkri's Build Thread

So this will be the home of my entire build for the next 6-8 months.
Car will be built to make 450whp, and believe the total cost will be around 8-10k.

Block is done being machined by C&S and will be picking it up tomorrow, am quite excited actually. The total cost was 413 plus tax, which is quite reasonable. The block was decked, bored and honed to .020, hot tanked, new freeze plugs, and polished crank. No balancing was done, and no align hone as the main journals look good to go.

Pictures of the block will be up tomorrow afternoon.

I will also be dropping off the 2g head tomorrow. They will be drilling the head stud holes to 12mm for the 6 bolt head studs. I am also getting a 3 angle valve job (I know 4g63 heads come with a 3 angle from factory but after 100k miles im sure it could use a freshening up.) They are also intalling BC Stainless Steel Valves, BC Titanium retainers and Springs, along with new cast iron valve guides, and Feara Valve Seals. Estimated cost is around $500.

All in all I am at 3k in parts and labor, for just the engine is it worth it for an 18 year old? Well lets just say ive spent thousands on other things and havnet been this happy of excited doing it.

The block will be getting Eagle H-beams and 9.0:1 Wisecos as its heart. Im using ACL Tri-Metal Bearings because ive only herd amazing things from this companies bearings.

As far as C & S goes they took my pistons to make sure each piston fits equally with the cylinder as the other 3 with there designated cylinder, which in my book is an automatic A+ for quality for c & s.

Tons of Images will be up tomorrow.

The turbo being put on is a fp3052, if you all are curious.

Another thing is I live at home until I move to Arizona, and havenet had a girlfriend since June, which saves a boatload =].

haha, ya one of my coworkers who is 17 used to have a vw and traded it for a 90 eclipse or talon. Its red and has stock sprayed black rims and a evo 16g turbo.

so it must be a true theory but theres like 100 culvers in wisconsin so its quite an easy job to get...
