Turbo upgrade, fmic, injectors, bov, manifold
I decided to see what kind of holiday deals I could find as far as an upgrade goes for the fiances talon. Looking for used, cheap parts here. If I can't find a good enough deal on a package, I'll get parts individually. If it still ends up being to expensive, I'll probably just go with a turbo and she can get the rest on her own. PO said her car came with a Wally 190 I believe. So as far as what we need, the list is as follows.
Turbo - Prefer a big 16g but I don't think that will be in the price range.
FMIC & piping
HKS SSQV II - Or other aftermarket BOV. Talon is auto, so vented would probably be preferred. (and it sounds oh so much nicer)
Injectors - Depends on the Turbo I guess.
Ported or tubular manifold - just an afterthought
All needed hoses, wires, tubes, flanges, misc, etc.
Car is a 96 Tsi AWD Auto

I've got a SBR "Race" FMIC kit (3.5" thick core, 2.5" short route piping flanged for a Greddy BOV, includes J-pipe, throttle body elbow, all silicone couplers and t-bolt clamps). The core is in decent shape, a few bent fins just from being daily driven, the only "flaw" is that one of the end tank welds cracked on me last winter and I had to reweld it. It held fine since. $450

Brian not sure if they are still running it but even brand new stuff right over the holidays was the best time to buy! You can probably still get some great deals.

Come on dude, scrape together another $50 bucks. Wont get much better deal than that! You can buy all the blown, stripped bolt having small 16Gs for $250 or a BRAND NEW FORCED PERFORMANCE TURBO for $500.

Actually I just got an offer for a small 16g & a set of 550's for $230. It's for her car, she won't know what to do with it.

Ok, got some more stuff last night. Looks like the last item on the list is a good deal on a BOV & flange. If I can't find a good deal on an aftermarket, then I'd like to go with a 1g.
